  • Brian Almanza

    BRIAN ALMANZA - PIANO


    Brian has been playing and performing music since grade school. Having earned his spots in both district and regional honor bands, his talents have afforded him the opportunity to perform overseas and establish membership into some of the highest college-level ensembles available in Arizona. 


    When it comes to teaching music, Brian is engaging and encouraging. He strives to provide a fun and nurturing learning environment that focuses on fundamentals and technique development.

  • Desiree Aguilar

    DESIREE AGUILAR - PIANO


    Desiree has extensive experience as a vocalist having trained in opera, Broadway, jazz and contemporary Christian music. Desiree’s main focus is to teach the language of music to her students through an approach that includes, vocal skills, aural skills, breath training, sight-reading, theory and performance. Her hope is that her students leave her lessons having developed a love and understanding of music. As well as a foundation of knowledge that makes them both creatively and academically excellent.

  • Jamie Wu

    JAMIE WU - PIANO


    Jamie Wu, originally from Taiwan, started playing both violin and piano at the age of 4. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in violin performance (with minors in piano performance) from National Taiwan Normal University. In 2021, she earned her an additional master’s degree in violin performance pedagogy from Arizona State University. Currently, she is working on her Doctor of Music Arts degree at ASU. Jamie has been a teacher for 10 years. She is classically trained and believes in the importance of developing the foundations of techniques and theory in order for students to be able to play anything by themselves. Learning music should be fun and enjoyable, and she will do the hard part of teaching you how to build up your skills and use your tools so you can enjoy learning and playing!

  • Jessica Mink

    JESSICA MINK - PIANO


    Jessica first started playing piano when she was 4 years old, and began teaching piano lessons on her own at age 12. Jessica attended Arizona Christian University and majored in Vocal Performance. She participated in multiple school productions including Jane Eyre and Oklahoma. In 2019, she was selected to perform in the choir for Andrea Bocelli. Jessica began teaching piano and voice at Desert Ridge Music Academy in 2011, and has enjoyed sharing her knowledge and love of music ever since.

  • Leilani Ballard

    LEILANI BALLARD - PIANO


    Leilani studied at Little Creek School of Music and is a performer with 30 years experience and 10+ years teaching music on multiple instruments. 


    Her primary focus is to help new musicians identify their own musical interests and goals while providing a solid foundation in music knowledge and skill.

  • Melody Wilson

    MELODY WILSON - WOODWINDS


    Melody Wilson is a an experienced music educator with a passion for teaching and a dedication to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students. 


    She has worked as a substitute teacher, certified teacher, a high school band director, and a clinician. She has also served as a marching band field tech at several high schools, and was a marching band drum major at Northern Arizona University for 2 years. While saxophone is her primary instrument, Melody has played various instruments in different settings including College ensembles, bands and groups of her own.

  • Andrew Fort

    ANDREW FORT - PIANO & VOICE


    Andrew is a composer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and vocalist, who writes and performs in a large variety of styles, including classical, jazz, and gospel/funk. His teaching style foregoes rote memorization to focus on cultivating understanding of music through writing, theory, history, technique, and imagery, so that students can develop their individual musical opinions and sensibilities rather than copying what came before.


  • Ava Addleman

    AVA ADDLEMAN - PIANO & VOICE


    Ava holds a Bachelor's in Music from ACU. Her personal teaching style based on the student's individual voice and passions. She creates space for self-discovery, exploration, and growth. Each lesson is an opportunity for the student to understand their own voice and apply techniques that fit, growing in both skill and confidence.

  • Carrie Lynn

    CARRIE LYNN - PIANO & VOICE  


    Carrie Lynn is a piano and vocal teacher who specializes in breaking down music to it's simplest patterns and using YouTube and games as learning aids. With her 24 years of experience in piano and voice, 15 years of performing experience, and her genuine love of teaching, she's the ideal teacher for students of any age who are ready to learn how to play or perform with or without sheet music. Carrie Lynn also 10 years experience teaching neurodiverse students, and takes pride in her years as a respite.

  • Gabby Hubler

    GABBY HUBLER - PIANO & VOICE


    Gabby began studying piano at age 11, and has been working as a professional pianist since 2016. She has been teaching since 2018 and specializes in guiding students towards their personal goals. Her great desire and passion in life is to share the joy of music with her students. She especially loves to instill the desire to play and enjoy music, and to share its greatness and beauty with others.

  • Jayna Rardin

    JAYNA RARDIN - PIANO & VOICE


    Jayna loves the aspect of teaching that involves finding the distinctive way that each student learns. She aims to teach music in a way that students can healthfully and effectively tell a story through each song. Her lessons are giving students an opportunity to grow their unique gift in an environment where they can be guided in the right direction.

  • Jazmin Garven

    JAZMIN GARVEN - PIANO & VOICE


    Jazmin is a versatile vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from ACU. Her primary focus is cross-training musicians in a variety of styles in order to help them build confidence in their performance abilities. Jazmin is most passionate about empowering musicians to become skilled storytellers as they gain more stylistic tools. 



  • Laura Gibson

    LAURA GIBSON - PIANO & VOICE


    Laura Gibson is a classically trained soprano with a degree in Arts Management and Vocal Performance .  Laura teaches singers and music students of all ages and adores musical theater and opera most of all, but appreciates all types of music.  She loves helping performers gain confidence in themselves and improving upon their own unique abilities and teaches the importance of learning to read music for all levels of musicians. She is neurodiverse, patient, and passionate about teaching anyone who loves music that wants to grow as an artist and musician.

  • Lucas Miles

    LUCAS MILES - PIANO & VOICE


    Lucas is an experienced musician who teaches piano, voice, and composition. Lucas enjoys teaching a wide variety of genres ranging from classical, rock, pop, and more! He welcomes all ages and skill levels, and those with learning disabilities. Lucas believes that being a teacher means being a lifelong learner, so he is always open to new techniques and developments, and is constantly applying multiple teaching methods to provide a versatile and fun learning experience for each of his students.

  • Luke Fazio

    LUKE FAZIO - PIANO & VOICE


    Luke began studying music at age 9. He joined school band as a percussionist in middle school and performed in choir concerts and musicals throughout high school. Luke focused on piano and voice during his college years and he holds a Bachelor of Music Education from ASU. Luke teaches at DRMA as well as several elementary schools around the Valley. In his own words, "I want to help students deeply connect with music and tap into the many ways it can enhance their lives."

  • Mckenzie Omoruyi-Jones

    MCKENZIE OMORUYI-JONES - PIANO & VOICE


    Mckenzie Omoruyi teaches Piano, Voice and Flute lessons. She has a true passion for teaching and continually encourages students to explore different methods to expand their technical abilities. McKenzie loves to create a fun learning space for students of all ages and skill levels.

  • Yarou Liu

    YAROU LIU - PIANO & VOICE


    Yarou Liu, has been professionally taught piano and voice since age 5 and started performing at age 8. She is fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, and English and holds a Bachelors in Music Performance, and a Masters in Music Education. She teaches students of all ages and skill levels from beginner to expert level.

  • Bella Schwerin

    BELLA SCHWERIN - ALL STRINGS


    As a private instructor, Bella's goal is to help students discover and to develop the necessary fundamentals to reach their goals. She prioritizes physical awareness and understanding on the instrument, and the ability to produce a good sound. She believes it is crucial to help the student find a healthy love for music and the instrument itself. She encourages her students to adopt these values as they work towards their individual success. She excels in Cello, Violin and Viola.

  • Carol Krahulec

    CAROL KRAHULEC- VIOLIN


    Carol Krahulec earned her Master’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from ASU, and her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from NAU. She has taught both private lessons and Strings in the public schools for 37 years. Carol believes in developing a strong foundation of technique and skills. With that, all styles of music can be explored and mastered. She is classically trained and values that method and repertoire, but also uses her passion for world music to add supplementary material into the lessons if desired. The joy of music, and the joy of playing an instrument is the ultimate goal.

  • Esme Peters

    ESME PETERS - STRINGS


    Esme Peters is pursuing a violin performance masters degree at ASU. Esme believes that instrumental instruction is invaluable in helping students develop a healthy relationship with the learning process. She wants her students to feel confident in their ability to work through difficult skills and enjoy the challenge that comes with it. Esme is committed to meeting each individual student where they are at; whether they are just starting out on an instrument, casually pursuing a hobby, or studying music with specific goals for the future, she believes she can help students develop strong technique while expanding their natural love for music.

  • Gabrielle Beam

    GABRIELLE BEAM - ALL STRINGS


    Gabrielle has been playing the violin for over 20 years, and has taught violin and cello for the past decade. She is registered as a Suzuki teacher; trained in Violin Units 1-10, and Cello Unit 1. 


    Gabrielle strives to emulate Dr. Suzuki’s principles of a positive learning environment, with a focus on tone production and repetition. She begins every student’s musical journey by establishing a strong foundation with proper technique, then builds upon it by methodically adding repertoire and skills. With students ranging from 3 years old to adulthood, Gabrielle believes there is no limit to learning.

    LAURA SYJUD - ALL STRINGS


    Laura Syjud has a Bachelor’s in music education and a Master’s in early childhood education. She is also a registered Suzuki teacher violin books 1-4 and is an active board member for the Arizona Suzuki Association. She loves teaching young children through adults, keeping in mind the joy of learning and relevant material, no matter what age the students. She often says, "I don't teach to create professional musicians, I use music to teach confidence, determination and to nurture growth."

  • Mike Sun

    MIKE SUN - ALL STRINGS


    Mr. Sun has a bachelors of music education (Instrumentals), cum laude, from Shandong Teaching University, a masters of music (violin performance/conducting) from Arizona State University, and is a doctoral candidate in musical arts (instrumentals/conducting) from Arizona State University. He has teaching certificates from the Arizona Department of Education, Maricopa Community Colleges, and Suzuki Strings.

    VIVIAN LIEVRE - ALL STRINGS


    Vivian strives for the best in her students. While her primary aim is to ensure comprehension of material, she finds it necessary to create a fun environment for the student to learn in, which in turn provides the opportunity for growth. Her philosophy of music education focuses on the success and individualized learning of each and every student.

  • Marshall Crocker

    MARSHALL CROCKER - GUITAR, BASS, UKULELE


    During Marshall Crocker’s time at Northern Arizona University he established himself as a part of the NAU teaching faculty, accompanist, private teacher, and solo performer. Along with playing classical guitar he also created and hosted the Cornish Pasty Jazz jam, was part of the house band for the Altitudes Jazz Jam, Southside Jam, Harvest Poetry Jam, and NAU Jazz Combo and Big Bands.

  • Max Wieden

    MAX WIEDEN - BASS


    Max’s teaching style is all about context- helping students understand how to apply what they are learning to a real playing situation, and how to make music out of any material, whether it be reading exercises, rudiments, or a full chart. He is a multi-instrumentalist and a graduate of Los Angeles College of Music. He has been drumming for fifteen years, and has experience touring, recording, and teaching.

  • Ricky Serrano

    RICKY SERRANO - GUITAR


    Ricky began playing guitar when he was 9. By age 13 he started playing in bands and has been doing so ever since. Along the way he's had the fortune to play on some of the most infamous rock 'n roll stages and record music in some world class recording studios. "I enjoy teaching because it allows me to to pay forward the knowledge I've received to new musicians and carry on the tradition of the instrument."

  • Tom Gates

    TOM GATES - GUITAR, BASS, UKULELE


    Tom Gates has been a professional performer and teacher for more than 30 years. Tom received his B.A. degree in guitar performance from the University of Miami. Tom’s teaching philosophy is "Nothing is difficult, just unfamiliar. With custom-tailored lesson plans based on the student’s musical goals, lessons are presented in notation and TAB, as well as backing tracks for songs. The student has everything necessary for an immersive and engaging practice experience.

  • Tom Mein

    TOM MEIN - GUITAR & BASS


    Tom Mein is a teacher, performer and runs a popular Youtube channel. As a performer, Tom plays in several bands and as a soloist, playing all types of music, knows & has written charts for 10,000+ songs, been featured in Guitar Player magazine & played on many recordings. As an educator, Tom has taught for 30+ years to students of all ages and levels. Tom's lessons include fundamentals & book work as well as learning songs the student picks. Tom teaches guitar, bass, uke & Rock Band class (when available).



  • Zach Winters

    ZACH WINTERS - GUITAR, BASS, UKULELE


    Zach Winters is an exceptionally skilled and versatile musician and a graduate of Berklee College Music, where he honed his skills as a guitarist, composer, and producer. Zach works as a music educator, producer, songwriter, and session musician. His passion for music is infectious, and he takes great pride in inspiring and mentoring other musicians to reach their full potential.

  • Bruce Stodola

    BRUCE STODOLA - DRUMS


    Bruce started studying drums and percussion in 5th grade and immediately began studying with some of the best instructors and performers in the world. He played in Arizona's "Young Sounds" and went on to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He's been teaching drums for over 25 years and loves to help students develop their own unique sound. Bruce utilizes rudiments, reading and coordination exercises to help his students learn to play all styles of drumming and perform the songs they love. Bruce's ultimate goal is to make learning a fun and rewarding experience. 


    Beginners: Experience a fun yet focused learning environment. Intermediate Players: Learn skills to succeed in various music situations and auditions. Advanced Players: Receive real world skills to succeed and survive as a professional musician.

  • D'mitri Droban

    D'MITRI DROBAN - DRUMS


    D’mitri is a summa cum laude graduate and Valedictorian from the Los Angeles College of Music where he holds a bachelor’s degree in music. With over fifteen years of experience as a drummer, he has honed his skills performing and teaching in a wide range of musical styles. D'Mitri teaches drum students of all levels and enjoys inspiring their musical aspirations. His high level of creativity is the foundation for the fun and exciting educational experience he delivers.

  • Liam Arnold

    LIAM ARNOLD - DRUMS


    Liam began playing drums at just 8 years old, and spent over 10 years studying and honing his abilities. He is comfortable playing and teaching genres including rock, pop, jazz, and more. When teaching, Liam insists on starting with the basics (reading, rudiments and hand technique) to ensure that his students have a solid drumming foundation on which to build their skills. He also ensures that students have fun while developing their abilities by keeping it light and approachable.

  • Morgan Ambrose

    MORGAN AMBROSE - DRUMS


    Morgan focuses on teaching students to read music through a variety of different method books such as Ted Reed’s Syncopation, Alfred’s Drum Set and Snare Drum Methods books, Jazz Methods Ensemble Studies, and many more. Students will also engage in playing drums to some of their favorite songs and bands with written drum charts. Morgan aims to create lessons that are fun, engaging, and individualized for each of his students.

  • Alyson Johnson

    ALYSON JOHNSON - BRASS


    Alyson holds a Music Education degree from Western Michigan and has been teaching brass for 6 years. She has developed a student-centered teaching philosophy whereby she works with each student to find repertoire relevant and enjoyable to them. Students are encouraged to bring in music and ideas that they'd like to learn, and Alyson works to find practice strategies that work well with the student's strengths and learning styles. This teaching style encourages students to find more meaning, motivation, and purpose in their musical studies, and help them to become more independent musicians with high self-efficacy. Alyson also has experience teaching lessons to students with ADHD, Autism, and other special needs.

  • Andy Gross

    ANDY GROSS - WOODWINDS


    Andy Gross is a Professional Jazz Saxophonist and educator. He performs regularly with the Phoenix Symphony and works freelance with many local Jazz and Contemporary Music groups and ensembles. 


    He has played on numerous recordings including three of his own. Andrew is the Music Director for Young Sounds of Arizona, a youth program dedicated to developing not only excellent musicianship but the social skills needed to be successful. Andrew received a Masters of Music Performance from Arizona State University and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Jazz and Contemporary Music with honors from the New School University in New York, NY.

  • Ryan Pratt

    RYAN PRATT - BRASS


    Ryan Pratt is a freelance trombonist and brass instructor based in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. An Alumnus from the Chandler Unified School District. 


    Ryan played bass trombone with the Arizona All State Concert Band in 2015, Principal Trombone in the 2016 All State Concert band, and Lead Trombone in the 2016 Arizona All State Jazz Band. Ryan studied Trombone Performance with an emphasis on jazz at Northern Arizona University with David Vining and Chris Finet.
