  • Who can join?

    People that play these instruments:


    • Voice
    • Electric Guitar
    • Electric Bass
    • Drumset

    Ask your instructor if you're ready! If you don't take lessons at DRMA, that's okay too. We may call you with some questions about your experience prior to you joining a class.

  • How many players can each class have?

    Each class can have:


    • 2 Electric Guitarists
    • 2 Drummers
    • 2 Singers
    • 1 Bass Player
    • 1 Keyboard Player
  • When are the classes?

    All band classes will meet every Thursday in the Performance Center. Exact class times are to be determined upon enrollment. Each band class meets weekly for 1 hour.

  • Who teaches the band classes?

    DRMA Guitar and Bass Instructor Tom Mein.

  • Will there be performances?

    YES! Each band class will take place in concerts as often as possible. Some may be held in the Performance Center, some may be held at other venues.

  • How much does it cost?

    Currently Enrolled Member Pricing: $100/month


    Non-Member Pricing: $125/month

  • Is there an age limit (min/max)?

    There are no age restrictions for the classes, and they may consist of varying ages from kids to teens to adults. 


    However, a player's "musical age" (level of playing experience) is considered. That's something that your instructor can help you determine. 

Instrument Requirements:

  • Vocalists

    Ask your instructor if you are ready for Band Class!

  • Guitar

    Players must know:

    • Barre Chords
    • Open Chords
    • Power Chords

    Suggested:

    • Basic chart reading
    • 5th &6th string note locations
  • Bass Guitar

    Players must possess basic rhythmic knowledge (quarter notes and 8th notes)

  • Drums

    Players must be able to play these in tempos ranging from 72bpm to 140bpm:

    • "Shuffle" Groove
    • "Straight" Rock Groove

     

  • Piano/Keyboard

    Players should know how to find Major and Minor chords (triads and some 7ths) in most common musical keys.
